This is a modern evolution of the classical Kanchipuram cotton, where weavers dedicate more time and design detail to the pallu — the end of the saree that drapes over the shoulder. The heavier pallu makes the saree suitable for occasions where a full silk feels too heavy but a plain cotton feels understated.
