Where it comes from
Chettinad sarees emerged from the Nagarathar community's weaving traditions in southern Tamil Nadu. Historically worn daily by women of Chettinad households, the weave is characterised by durable cotton yarn and unmistakable colour palettes drawn from local architecture and tile work.
